Adoption of the Joint implementation accreditation standard (ver 01)

Adoption of the Joint implementation accreditation standard (ver 01)

At its twenty-first meeting held on 13-14 April 2010 in Bonn, Germany, the Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee (JISC) adopted the “Joint implementation accreditation standard (version 01)”, a new and very important document in the JI accreditation process.

This document consolidates into a single standard all JI accreditation requirements for independent entities to meet in order to become and stay accredited.

The “Joint implementation accreditation standard (version 01)” incorporates the existing requirements, with modifications as appropriate, and some new requirements deemed necessary for an efficient and transparent JI accreditation process.

The “Joint implementation accreditation standard (version 01)” is available on the UNFCCC JI website at: http://ji.unfccc.int/Ref/Documents/accreditation_standard.pdf

Also at its twenty-first meeting, the JISC adopted a new version of the JI accreditation procedure, i.e. “Procedure for accrediting independent entities by the Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee (version 06)”. This document is also available on the UNFCCC JI website at: http://ji.unfccc.int/Ref/Documents/Procedure_Accrediting_IE.pdf
