Project related text:
The main objective of the project is the generation of electricity based on renewable energy sources.
The project consists of two main parts - first, the construction of the Tsankov Kamak hydro power station and second, the rehabilitation of the existing hydro power stations Teshel, Devin, Orpheus and Krichim. 
The electricity generated by the project will replace electricity generated by other power plants in the Bulgarian electric power system.

Important note: 
The rehabilitation of the existing hydro power stations Teshel, Devin, Orpheus and Krichim was completed and they are operational. 
The construction of the Tsankov Kamak hydro power station is expected to be completed to the end of 2010 and to be operational from 1st January 2011.
