Project related text:
This project goal is to reduce perfluorocarbon (PCF) emissions by reducing the frequency of anode effect and duration with a package of technical measures (reduction of the cryolite ratio) in the old Soederberg cells with upper current leads (VSS) envisaged for implementation at the Irkutsk aluminium smelter in early 2002 and conversion to the modern and green PFPB technology (OA-300 cells) in 2005.
