Purpose of the project is the reduction of nitrous oxide emissions from the two nitric acid production lines A and B at the Nitrogen Works Anwil S.A.The company is situated in Włocławek, Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodship, Poland. N2O formation is a result of unwanted chemical reaction that takes place during ammonia oxidation which is the first stage in the nitric acid production process. Some part of N2O is destroyed already in the ammonia oxidation reactor, while the rest is carried out with the tail gases. One way to reduce N2O emissions is by installing secondary N2O reduction catalyst underneath the primary catalyst precious metal catching and catalytic gauzes package in the ammonium burner. This N2O abatement technology will be applied at two production lines A and B of Anwil plant.
Current status of the project Unknown
Total verified emission reductions 0 t CO2 equivalent
