Publication of two determinations regarding project design documents

Paragraph 34 of the annex to decision 9/CMP.1 (JI guidelines) stipulates that, under the verification procedure under the Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee (JISC), the accredited independent entity (AIE) shall make its determination regarding a project design document (PDD) publicly available through the secretariat, together with an explanation of its reasons, including a summary of comments received and a report of how due account was taken of these. In accordance with paragraph 35 of the JI guidelines, a determination regarding a PDD shall be deemed final 45 days after the date on which the determination is made public, unless a Party involved in the project or three of the members of the JISC request a review by the JISC.

In accordance with paragraph 34 of the JI guidelines, the determinations regarding the PDDs for the following projects have been submitted by an AIE to the secretariat and will be publicly available as of tomorrow, 13 June 2008:

0025. Rudaiciai Wind Power Park Project
0034. Benaiciai Wind Power Project

The period for requesting a review will end on 27 July 2008 (17:00 GMT).

The determinations regarding the abovementioned PDDs will be available on the UNFCCC JI website under <http://ji.unfccc.int/JI_Projects/Verification/DetRep.html>.
