Two final verifications and publication of one joint implementation project design document and one monitoring report

Two verifications deemed final

In accordance with paragraph 39 of the annex to decision 9/CMP.1 (JI guidelines), a determination regarding the emission reductions by sources or enhancements of removals by sinks (verification) shall be deemed final 15 days after the date on which the verification is made public, unless a Party involved in the project or three members of the Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee (JISC) request a review by the JISC.

This is to notify that the period for requesting a review has ended for two verifications pertaining to the joint implementation (JI) project “0035. Utilization of Coal Mine Methane at the Coal Mine named after A.F. Zasyadko” with monitoring report number "002", covering the period from 01 July 2008 to 30 September 2008, and monitoring report number "003", covering the period from 01 October 2008 to 31 December 2008.

Since neither a Party involved nor three members of the JISC have requested a review within this period, the verifications are deemed final. The referred final verifications are available on the UNFCCC JI website under <http://ji.unfccc.int/JI_Projects/DeterAndVerif/Verif/FinVerif.html>.


Publication of one joint implementation project design document

Paragraph 32 of the annex to decision 9/CMP.1 (JI guidelines) stipulates that, under the verification procedure under the Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee (Track 2 procedure), accredited independent entities (AIEs) shall make joint implementation (JI) project design documents (PDDs) publicly available through the secretariat, subject to confidentiality provisions, and receive comments from Parties, stakeholders and UNFCCC accredited observers for 30 days from the date the PDD is made publicly available.

This message is to notify that the JI PDD for the following project has been submitted by an AIE to the UNFCCC secretariat and will be open for comments as of tomorrow, 24 March 2009, until 22 April 2009 (17:00 GMT):

0174. Bark and Wood Waste Utilization at Solombala Pulp and Paper Mill (SPPM)

The abovementioned PDD will be available on the UNFCCC JI website under <http://ji.unfccc.int/JI_Projects/DeterAndVerif/Verification/PDD/index.html>, where also detailed information on the submission of comments will be provided.


Publication of one monitoring report

Paragraph 36 of the annex to decision 9/CMP.1 (JI guidelines) stipulates that, under the Track 2 procedure, reports on reductions in emissions by sources or enhancements of removals by sinks due to JI projects shall be made publicly available.

This message is to notify that an AIE submitted to the UNFCCC secretariat a monitoring report for the following JI project:

0025. Rudaiciai Wind Power Park Project with the monitoring report number "001", covering the period from 01 January 2008 to 31 December 2008.
