The UNFCCC secretariat prepared the seventh UNFCCC workshop on joint implementation (JI), which was held in Bonn, Germany on 12 September 2011.

The workshop allowed the Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee (JISC), designated focal points of Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (DFP), applicant/accredited independent entities (AIE), project participants of JI projects, and other JI stakeholders to share their experiences and exchange their views, in particular with regard to:
- draft recommendations from the JISC to CMP on options for building on the approaches embodied in joint implementation (revision of the JI guidelines);
- revision of the guidance on criteria for baseline setting and monitoring, including the concept of prior consideration; and
- amendments to the fee structure to cover administrative costs relating to activities of the JISC and its supporting structures.
