Call for public input
At its fifteenth meeting, the JISC discussed the development of a DVM and PoA and requested the secretariat, in consultation with the Chair and Vice-Chair, to organize roundtable consultations on these matters in conjunction with its next meeting and to ensure an appropriate and balanced participation of involved stakeholders.
Based on this, the UNFCCC secretariat is preparing Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee (JISC) roundtable consultations, to be held in Bonn, Germany, on 16 June 2009.
The roundtable consultations are for the JISC to meet with interested stakeholders to listen to their views on the development of a DVM and PoA under the JI Track 2 procedure. Stakeholders having practical experiences and knowledge will be invited to discuss among themselves and with the JISC.
Stakeholders with practical experiences in JI are invited to express their interest to participate in the roundtable. Expressions of interest should include information regarding the individual's or organization's involvement in JI with regard to the particular issues to be addressed in the context of the roundtable consultations.
Based on the inputs received and further considerations by the JISC, the participants for the roundtable will be finalized.
Expressions of interest to participate in the roundtable should be submitted using the below form no later than 26 May 2009 (17:00 GMT).
