Project related text:
The goal of the project to reduce impact of the steelmaking process on the climate by application of more energy efficient technology. Existed open-hearth steel production process was replaced by an electric arc steelmaking process. Emissions of GHG were reduced significantly as a result of the project implementation. In order to achieve the goal of the project, Severstal constructed a new Finger Shaft Furnace (SHF) #2.
