All documents (forms, procedures, etc.) approved by the JISC and published on the UNFCCC JI website are intended for use in connection with the verification procedure under the JISC, as defined in paragraphs 30-45 of the
JI guidelines. If the documents are used for any other purpose, they shall not be modified or changed in any way, and anyone making such use of the documents shall hold harmless and defend the JISC and the UNFCCC secretariat against any action that may be brought against them as a result of such use.

Accreditation of independent entities
(Unless otherwise indicated, the term "JI guidelines" refers to the annex of decision 9/CMP.1.)

Accreditation of independent entities
NOTE: Based on the decision of the Joint Implementation Supervisory Committee (JISC) at its thirty-seventh meeting, beginning 30 September 2015, the JISC will no longer accept applications for initial accreditation or reaccreditation as an accredited independent entity (AIE). As of 2 August 2016, the JISC will rely on the CDM accreditation system for its all accreditation functions. Meetings of the JI Accreditation Panel, accreditation assessment activities on AIEs, calls for JI assessment team experts, and regulatory documents related to JI accreditation will be suspended until further notice. See JISC37 meeting report, paragraph 16 regarding the reliance of JI accreditation on the CDM accreditation system.
